Procurement Manager - Ingredients - Dairy Camden NJ. General Summary The Procurement Manager - Ingredients - Dairy is directly responsible for the procurement activities of all Dairy ingredients across the entire Campbell Soup Co. network in the U.S., with direct spend responsibility of approximately $140MM. The individual will be responsible for planning, formulating, guiding, driving and monitoring implementation of category management strategies for the assigned ingredients, through all supply chains and Campbells locations, ensuring quality of materials, competitive pricing, and adherence to company policies. This position has a high focus on the strategic work with cross functional units and suppliers to develop efficiencies across the entire Source to Pay Process and create value beyond total delivered cost. Key Responsibilities - Apply the use of strategic sourcing model to develop and implement robust sourcing activities and processes that meet financial planning, secure supply, quality and price risk mitigation objectives across business units and plant networks. - Support and lead cross functional efforts to develop productivity programs that deliver enabler and Total Procurement Value (TPV) target. - Design and drive a strong SRM program to develop short- and long-term projects to deliver an annual target of hard savings, support innovation and process efficiency. - Have the ability to interact with team members at all levels in the organization, as well as senior leadership across multiple functions. The Individual must have the ability to influence the direction of the business and align and engage resources that are outside their area of responsibility. - In collaboration with Marketing, R & D and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) teams, develop and implement a company-wide procurement strategy for Dairy aimed to support efforts on CSR, supply diversity, responsible sourcing, brand value and product innovation. - Support leaders from Marketing, Operations, Finance, Quality Assurance, etc. for concept development, designing new programs, discussing product options, providing market education, etc., related to assigned category responsibilities. - Prepare monthly commodity price projections and keep track of total cost of ownership and variations to budget and be able to provide input to financial team. - Support Senior leaders in preparing monthly/quarterly commodity strategies and other reports as needed (coverage level, risk/ops and key enabler projects). - Collaborate with Treasury understanding hedging positions and track fundamental information to discuss price views, coverage strategies, financial projections, and developing projections on total delivered cost of goods. - Track fundamental information for global commodity and financial markets that impact prices of Dairy related commodities. Develop price view and coverage strategies for ingredients not hedged using financial derivatives. - Understand cash markets of Dairy and lead sourcing activities for basis. Ongoing Activities: Ongoing activities include sourcing, budgeting, productivity, quality management, stakeholder communication, strategy development and implementation, risk mitigation and continuity planning, innovation and continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers and other business units. Responsible for financial planning with direct accountability for TPV and cash flow impact. Ongoing strong linkages with stakeholders in R & D, Quality and Supply Chain to ensure alignment on objectives, and prioritize activities appropriately. Ensure all SAP contracts are issued timely and accurately. Commitment to Campbells Code of conduct. Knowledge, Skills, and abilities required: - Minimum 8 years in direct material sourcing or supply chain related positions. - Detailed knowledge of global and domestic dairy markets, processing industry, including byproducts, supply chain, quality, import requirements, and Gov. regulations. - Excellent managerial and project management skills. - Ability to apply the 7 steps of strategic sourcing mode. - Good negotiating skills and the ability to create new and cultivate existing relations. - Good knowledge of Excel and Power Point. - Ability to work independently and with a proactive approach. - Ability to interact at all organizational levels, domestic and international. - Manages large, complex, or multiple projects effectively. - Strong analytical skills, research background, process development and continuous improvement. - Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills. - Persuasive and influential skills to bring to life new ideas in terms of SRM and process improvement. - Knowledge of financial derivatives and commodity markets. - Proficient skills in proactively creating a positive, high performing culture by developing, coaching, and connecting with everyone at all levels (both directs and those within/ outside of Procurement). - Proficient communication, decision making, and problem-solving capabilities. - 10-15% Travel Anticipated in this role. Minimum Level of Education: Bachelors of Science in business, AgriBusiness, or Supply Chain, Desired/Preferred education level: Masters of Science preferred.
