Job Summary:The Public Relations Specialist executes the proactive PR strategy for NFI. Collaborating with the marketing team and NFI's business leaders, the PR specialist, will develop opportunities to promote NFI and its assets in the media and at events, as well as grow thought leadership.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders and department leadership to assess business objectives and translate specific goals and challenges into media opportunities
• Independently manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously, building project plans and schedules to ensure progress and communicate delivery
• Build relationships with media contacts across national and industry publications
• Develop tactics to grow thought leadership throughout the organization including trade shows, speaking engagements, and interviews
• Continually provides proactive PR ideas to generate positive visibility and awareness, including media pitches to generate media coverage
• Research and create media lists using various tools, matching the right pitches with contacts who are likely to be interested in the content
• Respond to media requests and ensures all reporter deadlines are met
• Write press releases and talking points for press opportunities
• Monitors daily media coverage and helps compile a list for internal distribution
• Research, pitch, and execute trade shows and events that align with NFI's business
• Research and pitch thought leadership opportunities including event attendance, speaking engagements, panels, interviews, and podcasts.
• Measures the performance of PR campaigns and ensures they are aligned with company strategic goals
• Write content to support marketing additional marketing initiatives
• Develop media kits and assists with event promotion
• Assist with additional marketing projects, as neededRequirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working in a corporate marketing or PR agency environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Meltwater experience, a plus
  • Highly organized, flexible, and detail-oriented
  • Sound knowledge of social media, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics
  • Writing/Marketing samples may be requested
  • Logistics experience a plus
