Job Description The Campus Bridge position provides a unique opportunity for certified Special Education Teachers to gain hands-on practice and the training necessary to become a successful full-time Special Education Coordinator. Campus Bridge Special Education Coordinators have the opportunity to observe best practices in coordination, collaborative meeting structures, classroom instruction, and education reform from experienced teachers and school leaders at a leading charter management organization. CAMPUS BRIDGE SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATORS WILL RECEIVE THEIR INITIAL HOST SCHOOL PLACEMENT UPON HIRE. AT ANY POINT BETWEEN SEPTEMBER AND JUNE, THE CAMPUS BRIDGE APPRENTICE TEACHER MAY BE ASKED TO TEACH AT A DIFFERENT SCHOOL IN THE REGION, DEPENDING ON THE STAFFING NEEDS OF THE REGION. Campus Bridge Special Education Coordinators observe and learn from Regional Special Education Leaders, co-teach with teacher-leaders, provide in-house substitute special education coordination coverage, and support with student identification and intervention, as well as individual or small group student instruction. Through full access to professional development, as well as regular meetings with the Regional Special Education Leader and instructional coach, Campus Bridge Special Education Coordinators will have many opportunities to gain the experience and support necessary to develop their teaching skills. By the end of the year, Campus Bridge Special Education Coordinators will be very strong candidates for full-time positions.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to the duties set forth below, the Employee agrees that s/he will perform all the other duties that are assigned by his/her supervisors, the Schools Principal and the Principals designees, and/or the Board of Trustees, including, but not limited to:ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure that all students receive the educational services that they need to succeed; * Identify incoming students special education needs as indicated by family questionnaire responses; * Review the results of intake assessments of new students to identify special education needs; * Schedule and provide pull-out services as needed both in person and during remote learning * Schedule, coordinate, and chair team and pre-referral meetings in person and virtually * Conduct academic testing as part of the evaluation process in person and remotely in accordance with state guidelines * Coordinate and conducting classroom observations and testing (i.e. psychological) as needed in person and remotely in accordance with state guidelines; * Ensure that all general education teachers know and understand all classroom accommodations required by IEPs and how to deliver these accommodations in person and remotely; * Deliver one-on-one, small group, and whole class instruction as appropriate in person and remotely * Proactively identify and address individual students needs in a remote learning setting (example: students need hard copy materials, students need hard copy anchor charts to have at home during remote instruction); * Maintain student records regarding special education issues and preparing reports for regulatory agencies; * Ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal special education law and regulations; * Work with Director of Operations to plan for students who might need exceptions to the Health & Safety Guidelines (ie: students who are not toilet trained). * Contribute to the design of curriculum materials and provide coaching to special education teachers on delivering small group instruction and/or co-teaching both in person and during remote learning * Design and administer rigorous, standards-based assessments and using assessment data to refine curriculum and instruction and to monitor students progress towards mastery of IEP goals and objectives; * Help to create a culture of order, structure, humanity, and academic rigor in the classroom and school as a whole; and * Collaborate with other teachers, other school staff, and administrators to ensure that all our students climb the mountain to high school and college. * Escalate to individual student cases to the principal when students are not making adequate progress towards their IEP goals and objectives and/or teachers have repeatedly been unable to provide instruction and services to students when on remote learning
