Job DescriptionJEVS Human Services is one of the largest human services agencies of its kind. For the past 70 years, we have served the Greater Philadelphia community making hope happen for more than 27,000 individuals annually through a range of programs such as job skills training, career management, vocational rehabilitation, recovery services, adult residential and day services and personal assistance in the home. These programs are designed to help individuals overcome quality of life challenges and also those who are facing socio-economic conditions such as the underemployed and the unemployed.Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a GED Instructor, which provides education, employment, empowerment, and life skills training to out-of-school youth. This program is designed to help youth re-engage academically and develop skills needed to be successful in the global economy.Job duties for this position will include:

• Collaborate with educational staff to provide appropriate GED/HiSET/TASC and academic enhancement instruction and activities.
• Develop lesson plans and curricula designed to achieve funder established benchmarks within program design.
• Maintain working knowledge of educational trends with special attention to out-of school youth (OSY).
• Meet and develop relationships with other program providers to help maintain a professional network among NJ DOL providers.
• Evaluate progress and report academic achievements of all students.
  • A bachelor's degree or two years of college course work (Associates degree) in English, psychology, education, social work, vocational or other appropriate fields. Must be strong in Math. GED instruction experience preferred.
  • Experience with OSY and hard to serve populations facing multiple barriers to learning and employment.
  • Must possess strong teaching skills.
