Job Description Summary Job Description Summary Possessing an
SPD-Relevant Certification (CRCST or CBSPD) with a minimum 2 years
of experience, the Sterile Processing Technician III manages the
reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, including
disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing,
assembly, packaging, labeling, and sterilization. Cares for and
operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other
equipment. Completes quality monitoring and documentation. Picks
inventory management and clinic instrument rounds. Assists with
mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile
Processing Technicians. Serves as a leader within the department
who specializes in specific complex area of SPD. Performs all
duties with a commitment to excellence in quality and customer

Requirements: Graduate of high school or GED equivalency
examination and must be certified and maintain a certification in
sterile processing as a CRCST - HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing
Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing
and Distribution) and have at least two (2) years’ experience in
sterile processing. Possess ability to understand and implement a
variety of detailed instructions in the execution of processes.
Applicant must communicate effectively both verbally and in
writing. Basic computer skills required. Ability to work in a
fast-paced, high pressure health care environment required.
Excellent interpersonal skills required. Detail oriented required.
Certifications: Must have certification from IAHCSMM (International
Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management).

required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability
to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
