Job Description:
U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management
service, is seeking a Janitorial Floor Technician to work in the
Atlantic City, NJ area.
Summary
Responsible for maintaining carpet and hard surface floors within
the scope of an assigned location using manufacturer-approved and
green methods.
JOB Responsibilities
Keep assigned areas orderly at all times.
Ability to utilize power machines.
Performs scheduled stripping, scrubbing, shining, cleaning,
buffing, refinishing, and/or sealing of different types of
hard-surfaced floors using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
Vacuums, wet vacs, extracts, sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, scrubs,
and polishes floors using vacuums, extractors, shampoo machines,
brooms, mops, and other powered floor machines.
Performs scheduled carpet cleaning and/or repair using approved
methods and chemicals.
Spot cleaning of carpets as needed.
Hoses down and extracts floor mats to be sure that they are clean
and ready to safely use when needed.
Washes windows and glass, both inside and outside; may perform
duties on ladders or on high reach/high lift equipment.
Washes and polishes walls, ceilings, pipes, vents, light fixtures,
stainless steel columns; may perform duties on ladders or on high
reach/high lift equipment.
Operates snow removal equipment, including but not limited to snow
blowers, snow shovels, snow augers, Bobcats, and spread snow
melting chemicals. MUST BE AVAILABLE DURING SNOW EMERGENCIES.
Cleans elevators and escalators, including escalator plates and
elevator, portal, and automatic door tracks.
Operates restroom cleaning/sanitizing machines or equipment to
sanitize restroom floors, walls, doors, partitions, mirrors,
countertops, sinks, toilets, urinals, and other fixtures.
Responsible for securing the working area, using appropriate safety
barricades, and removing when duties are completed.
Must empty any chemicals or water from equipment and wipe down all
equipment to a clean condition before putting it away in its proper
location.
Performs tasks that may involve exposure to blood or other body
fluids; must follow required procedures for handling, cleaning,
disposing, or moving of objects/materials, and/or the cleanup of
blood or body fluids.
May move large furniture, equipment, and/or objects either manually
or by using a hand truck, pallet jack, or flatbed.
Accepts deliveries and puts away supplies in proper storage areas.
Moves supplies either manually, or by using hand trucks, pallet
jacks, or flatbeds.
Keep janitors' closets clean, including removing debris from slop
sinks and drains.
Notifies lead or manager well in advance of dwindling supply of
chemicals or supplies that will be needed.
Completes all assigned work order requests; documents work,
material, and time to appropriate forms.
Notifies the lead or manager concerning the need for repairs of
equipment or property damage.
Ensures that all vehicles and equipment are kept clean and properly
maintained; promptly reports problems or damage.
Follows all health and safety guidelines and personnel rules and
regulations to prevent injury.
Adheres to company policies and procedures.
Follows all health, safety, and security policies and
procedures.
Practices safe work habits through the appropriate use of
chemicals, various equipment, and cleaning applications to prevent
injury as well as to prevent damage to floors, equipment, or other
surfaces or fixtures.
Transports trash, waste, and recycling to proper disposal areas and
adheres to all regulatory standards for waste collection and
transport.
Adheres to professional attire policy; complies with company
uniform policy.
Required to perform any duty as assigned by supervisor to
participate in the success of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have high school diploma/GED
All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
Background check and federal fingerprinting required.
Drug screening required.
Must be able speak, read, and understand oral and written
instructions in English.
Must have valid proper class motor vehicle operator's license as
issued by the State of New Jersey.
Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and
during severe weather events as needed to accommodate work
required.
