We recognize that people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives fuel our growth and enrich our global culture.We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team oriented environment, likes to be challenged, and values the opportunity to make a difference.GENERAL SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Sr. Manager - Utilities & Infrastructure, this position provides the technical knowledge to analyze plant refrigeration systems at all plant and warehouse locations and develop projects and programs that ensure system reliability and meet the refrigeration demands of our plant production systems. This position requires an understanding of the refrigeration needs of our production systems, technical understanding of the design, operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of operations personnel, internal and external engineering resources and Plant and WHQ management to present refrigeration systems projects.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as project engineer to coordinate development and execution of projects intended to improve energy conservation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce water use. (30%)
  • Develop conceptual plans, specifications, budgets and schedules for refrigeration project work. (15%) Serve on project management teams as subject matter expert to define refrigeration system requirements and coordinate activities with other team members including plant personnel, outside engineering resources, internal design engineering personnel and project managers. (15%)
  • Prepare conceptual designs for refrigeration related projects by working with consultant engineers and contractors to provide system detail designs and project implementation both on time and under budget. (10%)
  • Provide engineering analysis of plant refrigeration systems at plant and warehouse locations and develop programs and projects to ensure operational reliability, safety, system maintenance and, where deemed necessary, eventual system replacement. (10%)
  • Initiate solutions to refrigeration system problems that incorporate innovative thought and technologies incorporating environmentally friendly solutions for projects. (10%)
  • Continue professional development by researching latest refrigeration system technology through means including trade associations, vendor contacts, formal seminars, workshops, trade shows and other training avenues. (5%)
  • Manage, update and ensure communication and enforcement of technical specifications related to refrigeration systems. (5%)COMPLEXITY AND SCOPE:
    • Candidate must possess a technical understanding of refrigeration principles and systems, have a mechanical engineering degree and be familiar with plant refrigeration system components. They must also have a good command of engineering economics, understand safety code requirements and be able to work with varying levels of Company personnel. Typical projects include the conversion of R-22 systems to ammonia, design of new or upgraded systems to support plant expansions, design of replacement systems to replace aging equipment, and the development of projects to conserve energy and reduce operational costs.
    • Position requires a basic understanding of plant utility systems in order to solve technical problems associated with system malfunctions or inadequacies.
    • Requires the ability to develop conceptual designs, understand and prepare engineering specifications and requests for proposals and the ability to effectively manage and implement medium to highly complex, multi-functional projects that could range from $300,000 to $3,000,000 (aggregate value of annual project portfolio). Level responsibilities range from having a participative role in the management of capital dollars associated with authorized projects to playing a major role in the effective management of these capital funds to successfully deliver project results.MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
      • B.S. in Mechanical EngineeringMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
        • 5 years' experience, preferably in industrial refrigeration systems and sustainability initiatives.% OF TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
