Structural Engineer / Civil Engineer

Located in Mays Landing, NJ 08330

Duration: 1 year plus..

Remote Hybrid schedule. - Mondays & Friday's remote from home; Tues., Wed., Thurs. in the office.

Travel?: - Will need to travel to area substations 1-2 times on average per project within the service territory which is approx. within 1.5 hr drive from Mays Landing, NJ area.

Must live local to the region. (or relocate).



-Primary Duties:

Our client is looking for a Degreed Structural Engineer / Civil Engineer to support Substation Civil Structural Projects that impact various sites across the property, review Reinforced Concrete foundation Drawings, Rebar Drawings, Structural Steel Drawings and Various Calculations done in MathCAD / STAAD / LPILE. -

The candidate should have structural experience with foundation design, masonry buildings, structural steel design and reinforced concrete structures. -

Site development and stormwater management knowledge is a plus but not required. -

This position will require the candidate to work in a team environment, and work hand in hand with Project management, Electrical Engineering, Real-Estate and Construction. -

Some job site travel will be required based on workload and require personnel to attend training to gain unescorted access to energized electrical substations.

Obtaining permits, reviewing drawings and calculations, interacting with internal stakeholders to drive project development from start to finish.

Preferred Qualities of candidate:

E.I.T / F.E.

PE in Structural Engineering a plus

Construction Experience

Foundations, Structural Steel / Reinforced Concrete Design

Ability to open up Microstation cad drawings for review.

General Job Description:

Candidate will be responsible for performing civil and structural design calculations for foundations of heavy electrical equipment. The heavy electrical equipment are oil filled transformers, breakers, disconnect switches regulators, reactors etc.. Perform steel structures design and analysis, drainage and spill prevention calculations. -Review work performed by 3rd party. Provide support to construction group during construction phase of the project to assure timely completion of project within defined scope. Act as liaison between Architectural Engineering companies.



PPE would be provided (FR clothing, EH-rated boots, hard hat, safety glasses); mileage to job sites will be compensated at 58.5 cents per mile.
