Apply today!General Summary:The successful individual in this position demonstrates the ability to specify and implement processes/procedures that enhance product quality, reduce cost, increase plant efficiency, and facilitates technology transfer. Works closely with product development associates and plant personnel to develop, test and implement processes to commercialize Soup & Broth products. Conducts process scale up from pilot plant to manufacturing. Designs and develops experimental test plans for feasibility, pilot plant & plant trial runs, and commissioning, validation, and audits of manufacturing units of operation. Conducts multiple projects of moderate complexity and technical risk with little to no assistance. Troubleshoots and identifies the root cause of production problems and implements effective solutions. Effectively communicates at multiple levels within the organization and works well on cross-functional teams and with external partners.Primary Responsibilities:Lead/Manage complex external co-manufacturing capacity expansion projects with aggressive timelinesLead complex engineering projects/investigations, and/or support complex projects with some supervision. Conduct feasibility studies and implement new/improved process/packagesIntegrate process expertise & knowledge into early product development process. Build cohesive relationship as liaison between Product Development, Quality organization, Engineering, Supply Chain and Thermal Plant operations during the commercialization process.Provide process engineering knowledge to implement efficient and effective technology transfer between Technical Solutions Hub, R&D, thermal plants and co-manufacturers.Perform a robust situation assessment, document manufacturing methods, and procedures. Analyze and trend data to ensure that manufacturing systems will reliably deliver high quality product as designed within specification and cost. Document test results & conclusions, process parameters, critical control points and specifications.Review engineering drawings, automated process sequence descriptions and capital installation from process perspectiveCommission / validate & start- up of new processes / equipmentLead formula margin opportunities collaborating closely with the Enabler Acceleration Team as main point of contact.Work closely with the front of funnel product development and engineering steam on complex initiatives to ensure successful transition to commercialization team.Drive the development of innovative processes/technologies and commercialization of new business initiatives. Develop innovative approaches for testing and problem resolution. Determine appropriate design application.Complexity & ScopeProficient technical/food knowledge expertise and its application.Understanding of scale-up and manufacturing technical challenges.Proficient problem solving/analytical thinking.Strategic thought leadership for technical programs.Proficient decision making and project management.Collaborative working style; proactive self-starter.Ability to influence/communicate with functional partners in a way that fosters collaboration.Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.Capable of managing several project/programs simultaneously.Ability to multi-task and work comfortably in a high-pressure environment.Strong written, verbal, computer, and presentation skills.Minimum Requirements:Required: BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Food Engineering or related field of study.Preferred: MS in above engineering disciplines or Food Science.Minimum 5+ years in the food industry or equivalent experience.Has a depth of technical expertise with various thermal technologies, products, and processing systems.Formulates and executes complex experimental design.Understands food processing.Physical Demands:Travel (up to 50%) is associated with feasibility and start up at manufacturing plants, equipment and trials at vendor, pilot plant and co-manufacturing. A significant portion of the job is in the thermal production environment.Ability to walk or stand up to three-quarters of the workday. Physical ability to handle weights of approximately thirty pounds.Compensation and Benefits:The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between$85,900-$140,800Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
