Job Description:
Join US Foods, a leading foodservice distributor in America, as
a Lead Diesel Fleet Mechanic and take charge of maintaining and
enhancing our extensive fleet of trucks. Your expertise will ensure
the efficient delivery of food products to our vast network of
customers, which is crucial for their success and ours. In this
role, you will lead a team of mechanics, manage a variety of
maintenance tasks, and be responsible for the smooth running of all
fleet-related activities. Your contributions will help US Foods
continue to deliver quality service and support to 300,000
foodservice operators nationwide. Oversee and participate in the
maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines,
transmissions, and other mechanical components. Plan and schedule
routine fleet maintenance and inspections. Lead a team of
mechanics, providing guidance and training as needed. Ensure all
safety protocols and company standards are followed in the garage
and in all repair work. Maintain accurate records of maintenance
and repairs, and manage inventory of parts and supplies.
Collaborate with logistics and fleet management to optimize
maintenance schedules and minimize vehicle downtime. Expert
knowledge of diesel engine components and repair techniques. Strong
leadership skills and experience in a supervisory role. Proficiency
with diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to work under pressure
and handle multiple tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills and
attention to detail. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Commercial Driver’s License
(CDL) preferred. ASE Diesel Certification strongly preferred.
