Recently, Rutgers-Camden earned Carnegie classification as an R2 research university.Posting SummaryThis position reports to the Senior Director of Budget and Finance for the Camden Campus. Responsible for directing, managing, reconciling and maintaining the financial aspects of the Dining Unit and Other Units/Orgs as assigned on the Camden Campus. Monitors, verifies, and develops reports on expenditures of budgeted funds and prepares financial statements reflecting the forecasted status of programs and activities and their financial impact on the unit as a whole. Provides independent analysis of financial data and prepares financial documents and reports for internal and external purposes. Manages business operations to ensure the compliance of University policies and procedures and serves as an advisor in developing financial planning and resource planning consistent with University policies and the campus strategic plan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: directing support staff; ensuring that all transactions are processed in a timely manner for month-end closing in the unit; approves hires for Dining Unit and/or other units. Must be skilled in understanding database structure and have the ability to manipulate data imports and exports for financial reporting and analysis. Knowledge and experience with journal entries, financial statement preparation, and general accounting concepts are also required.Ability to work independently and to exercise confidentiality and discretion in the operational decision-making process.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or CPA preferred. Experience working in a higher education environment preferred. An in-depth understanding of the current Rutgers University Systems: Oracle, EPBCS, PeopleSoft and Discoverer preferred.
