Job Description:
Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is looking to hire a
Program Manager 3 to join their highly dynamic and growing team.
They will report to the Director and will become a vital part of
their treatment team of the facility. The responsibilities are
managerial in function, with the coordination of; overall
supervision of Program Assistants and other assigned staff
including but not limited to recruitment, interviewing and hiring,
training, evaluating, and scheduling. The Program Manager oversees
on-going security and safety of the facility, accountability for
the resident population, and supervising the orientation of all new
residents.They will take responsibility for a diverse range of
managerial matters including the coordination and overall
supervision of Program Assistants, and other staff, who take "hands
on" responsibility for the coordination and provision of services
tailored to the specific needs of clients. They will be responsible
for team member recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training,
evaluating, and activity scheduling. They will oversee on-going
security and safety of clients including the supervision of all new
client orientation procedures.The successful candidate will
complete performance evaluations and assist the Director in
conducting on-site training and staff development programs. They
will have strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to interact
effectively with clients, other team members, and outside
agencies.SCOPE OF DUTIES:
- Interact (verbally and non-verbally) with clients, staff, and
community members professionally with respect and courtesy.
- Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with
administrative policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate at regularly scheduled staff meetings,
supervisory conferences, and training sessions.
- Supervise assigned staff including the completion of
performance evaluations and regularly scheduled supervisory
sessions.
- Assist Director in conducting on-site training and staff
development programs.
- Assess training needs of assigned staff, schedule training as
needed, and ensure attendance at scheduled training.
- Create staff coverage schedules and arrange for emergency
coverage when necessary.
- Respond to all pages and calls from program staff.
- Provide emergency coverage when necessary.
- Coordinates community service projects as assigned.
- Assess operational needs of the facility and solicit
competitive bids for facility equipment.
- Ensure fire safety compliance.
- Collaborate with outside agencies to meet the needs of the
facility with Director's approval.
- Ensure facility cleanliness.
- Schedule and conduct regular facility inspections.
- Conduct contraband searches of the facility under the
Director's supervision.
- Document facility maintenance and life safety equipment needs
as per (Central Maintenance) policy.
- Prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll information (time sheets
and all personnel actions) on assigned staff in the required time
frame.
- Oversee the security of the facility and monitor the sign
in/out procedures.
- Oversee bed arrangements for all new residents, as well as
residents requesting transfer into another living area.
- Responsible for ensuring adequate meals are available for
clients.
- Oversee the monitoring of all medication to clients and the
documentation in the Medication Log.
- Provide support to the Director.
- Facilitate and/or co-facilitate House Meetings.
- Any duties assigned by Supervisor/Director.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Occasionally required to smell, stoop.
- Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel.
- Frequently required to reach.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to observe an areas that can be seen up and down or to
the left and right while eyes remain on a given point.
- Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
- Ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more.
- Ability to identify or distinguish
colors.CREDENTIALS/ABILITIES:
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED;
- A minimum of 6 months experience as a agency program assistant
is preferred or two years of human services experience and previous
supervisory experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer experience is preferred.Only those applicants
