Short Description The Vice President of Advancement is responsible for working through a portfolio of major gift donors and corporate and foundation prospects with the goal of securing qualification meetings and making referrals to the SVP, Director of Development, annual gift officer, and event fundraisers. You will be charged with making connections with decision makers at local and national organizations, researching organizations' philanthropic priorities, and effectively speaking to all of the ways in which organizations can partner with Cooper University Healthcare. This role requires an individual who is a strong leader, an excellent communicator and understands and is passionate about the mission and vision of Cooper University Health Care. The successful candidate must be able to work with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to physicians, board members, fellow Cooper foundation team members, Cooper senior leadership and others within the process as needed. The Vice President, Advancement will:

  • Identify, qualify, and cultivate corporate, foundation, and major donor prospects.
  • Maintain a portfolio of 125-150 corporate, foundation and/or major donor prospects
  • Conduct a minimum of 100 face-to-face (in-person or virtual) visits yearly.
  • Design and implement cultivation strategy leading up to those meetings, with the goal of qualifying or disqualifying prospects and making a strong referral to the SVP or other Cooper foundation staff.
  • Assist the entire department on reaching financial goals, which will require occasional nights and weekends.
  • Serve as a Cooper representative as needed.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and work with administrative support staff in a collaborative manner. Experience Required
    • Minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare, foundations, or other related field.Education Requirements
      • Bachelor's Degree Required.Special RequirementsScheduled Days / Hours: M-F 8-4:30
