with Campbell's? Apply today!GENERAL SUMMARYThe Sr. Manager R&D
- Packaging Innovation position has the responsibility of working
closely with internal and external teams to identify and develop
consumer centric and occasion appropriate packaging solutions for
the Meals & Beverage Division. The focus will be on primary
packaging applications but can include secondary and tertiary
packaging and will require an understanding of multiple packaging
materials, configurations, and processing technologies. Scope of
role will require an ability to gather relevant consumer insights
and synthesize them into meaningful input to drive thoughtful
package design. The position plays a key role on the Front of
Funnel team comprised of Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Product
Development representatives that are collectively responsible for
maintaining a robust innovation pipeline. This includes gaining
stakeholder alignment across functions and successful transfer of
projects to Category Teams for implementation. The role requires
leadership, excellent communication, the ability to influence and
collaborate, strategically plan and manage, and execute multiple
complex and multi-disciplined projects with minimal
supervision.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES---Dual role as technical
project leader and people manager. As a people manager, manage a
team of 2-4 people including packaging engineers and packaging
designers. This includes overseeing a packaging prototyping
capability that services the entire Campbell's enterprise. ---In
collaboration with the Front of Funnel team, steer strategic
direction of work, maintain robust innovation pipeline, and ensure
sufficiency of input to generate the right consumer
solution.---Identify, evaluate, and develop consumer centric
packaging solutions that meet business objectives. Work in
collaboration with Category teams to ensure successful transfer for
implementation.---In collaboration with Packaging Tech Scouting,
identify needs for packaging technologies and develop applications
for new packaging technologies.---Maintain and leverage external
partnerships to execute packaging consumer research and contribute
to innovative packaging development.---Contribute to Packaging
Technology and Innovation Pipeline and category Packaging
Strategies. JOB COMPLEXITY---Manages and executes multiple
simultaneous packaging projects focused on innovation.---Influences
and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to align on
strategy and project execution.---Creates and drives
cross-functional partnerships to identify, evaluate, develop, and
deliver packaging solutions.---Establishes, maintains, and
leverages external network of packaging material and equipment
vendors and co-manufacturing partners to identify Packaging trends
and evaluate them against the innovation goals of the
business.---Manages and develops package engineers to achieve the
goals and objectives of the business.---Supports the Packaging
R&D Leadership Team in the implementation of key Packaging
Development initiatives.JOB SPECIFICATIONS---Bachelor's degree in
Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
required. Advanced degree, Masters in Packaging Engineering or
related field or MBA, preferred.---8-12 years of experience in
packaging development roles of increasing responsibility ideally in
CPG. 5 years in packaging innovation role with 3 years of
experience managing a team with an innovation focus.---Familiarity
with variety of packaging conversion processes, materials and
formats, and commercial sterilization processes to manufacture
shelf stable foods strongly preferred.---Highly organized with
great attention to detail and able to adapt quickly to changing
priorities and unexpected requests.---Must be able to travel
domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.Compensation
and Benefits:The target base salary range for this full-time,
salaried position is between$105,000-$172,200Individual base pay
depends on work location and additional factors such as experience,
job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay
may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer
