lead quality improvement initiatives, coordinate staff training,
and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient
outcomes. This position requires a dedicated leader who can
effectively manage resources, foster a supportive work environment,
and engage with the community to address diverse healthcare
needs.Position SummaryThe RN Manager is responsible for overseeing
the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality,
patient-centered care. This role involves managing clinical
operations in collaboration with the medical director, implementing
nursing protocols, and ensuring compliance with healthcare
regulations.Duties And ResponsibilitiesLeadership and
Management:
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and
MAs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive
feedback and coaching to enhance staff development.
- Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and
optimize resource utilization.Clinical Oversight
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards of care to
maintain high-quality patient services.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurse practitioners to refine
and optimize patient care plans.
- Assist with patient triage to prioritize care based on patient
needs and ensure efficient workflow in a fast-paced
environment.
- Administer vaccines and other medications as needed,
particularly during staff shortages or to maintain optimal patient
flow.
- Monitor clinical flow to ensure operational efficiency,
identifying and addressing any bottlenecks in the process.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to address immediate patient
care requirements and facilitate seamless operations.
- Support the management team in implementing strategies to
enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.Quality
Improvement
- Develop and implement initiatives aimed at improving patient
care outcomes and enhancing service quality.
- Address and resolve eCW web encounters promptly and
effectively.Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations,
as well as FQHC-specific guidelines.
- Prepare for and actively participate in audits, TJC surveys and
inspections to maintain operational integrity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and
records to uphold accountability.Education And Training
- Collaborate with the education and training department to
reinforce protocols and standards that drive high-quality patient
outcomes.
- Identify training needs to foster a culture of continuous
learning and professional development within the nursing team.
- Participate in the hiring process to select qualified nursing
personnel.
- Engage in new hire orientation and onboarding processes to
ensure a smooth transition for nursing staff.Patient And Family
Engagement
- Foster a patient-centered approach to care that actively
involves patients and their families in decision-making
processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient education
and improve health literacy, empowering patients to take an active
role in their care.
- Performs other related duties as assignedEducation & Experience
Required
- Nursing Degree from an accredited institution, BSN
preferred
- Currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in New
York State
- Current CPR certificate or plan to attend a CPR training course
within six (6) months of employment
- Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical nursing experience
- One (1) to two (2) years in a supervisory or management role
preferred
- Experience in a primary care or community health setting,
preferably within an FQHC
