Senior Manager, Staffing The Camden City School District is in the midst of a transformative period marked by progress. Since 2012, the graduation rate has increased from 49 percent to 70 percent while the dropout rate has decreased from 21 percent to 12 percent. Across all District schools, staff are focused on providing the appropriate supports to students to ensure they are successful. In the past few years, this focus has included a shift toward restorative practices and trauma-informed care, which has led to declining suspension rates and increased attention on school climate and culture. ROLE OVERVIEW The Senior Manager, Staffing will ensure that all of Camden City School District's schools and central office teams are fully staffed with high-quality, mission-aligned employees. This will involve continuing to refine the district staffing model with relevant stakeholders and acting as a business partner to managers throughout the organization in order to meet their talent needs. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university * At least 2 years of work experience in (1) K-12 staffing and recruitment or (2) recruitment for an education nonprofit * A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration * Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Major responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: * Develop and implement a strategy to recruit diverse and highly qualified teachers for the District * Design and implement recruitment strategy to meet projected hiring needs and district's talent imperatives * Manage and oversee substitute staffing * Manage placement and work hours of part-time District staff * Partner with hiring managers to understand and fulfill their staffing models * Build diverse teacher pipelines by creating partnerships with local trainers and producers of teachers * Engage local teaching talent and aggressively promote district through proactive recruitment tactics * Revise and refine selection tools * Train hiring managers on use of selection tools, application system, and candidate communication * Manage Staffing team to ensure smooth recruitment, selection, and onboarding of all staff into the district * Establishes vendor relationships to maximize substitute staffing services, minimize costs, and ensure optimum performance from the third-party vendor CORE COMPETENCIES An ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate the following and/or have experiences with: * Excellent project management skills * Strong oral and written communication skills * Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously * Establish and maintain rapport with district staff, community stakeholders, and local partners * Demonstrated ability to develop a vision and inspire others to achieve shared goals * Comfortable with change and ambiguity; flexible, optimistic approach; committed to overcoming challenges * Systems thinker with a demonstrated ability to design disciplined and sustainable processes and systems that produce strong results * Commitment to the success of all Camden students; specifically to raising the academic achievement of children in high-poverty communities * Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and take initiative * Fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic Web browsers and searches * Willingness to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of a dynamic team committed to a new future for urban education CORE VALUES We are seeking individuals who will exemplify the District's core values: Respect and Humility We serve our community by recognizing the strengths, experiences, and perspectives of others.
