Hispanic Family Center of Southern New Jersey (HFCSNJ), is a dynamic nonprofit organization that positively impacts 10,000 individuals annually and boasts a 95% customer satisfaction rating. Established in 1976, HFC operates out of three sites in Camden and one in Woodbury with a mission of "promoting empowerment and self sufficiency" to individuals and families.Hispanic Family Center is looking for a highly skilled senior executive to serve as Deputy Executive Director. This new position is full time. The individual filling this role must have the ability to work independently, be energetic and engaging, and extremely strong nonprofit administration skills. This position requires a proven ability in developing and successfully managing programs, budgets and people. Applicant must have superb written and oral communication skills and proficiency in the use of all relevant computer programs. Must have the ability to create sustainable, positive relationships with community partners.General duties include:Manages the day-to-day operations of the agency, which may include the agency's financial and budget activities and other operational or programmatic activities.Provides counsel and advice to the executive director regarding agency operations.Provides leadership and direction for program leadership, setting an effective agenda and ensuring performance goals are met and set.Reviews and analyzes agency operations to evaluate the performance of the agency and to identify areas of potential program modifications and improvements.Ensures that the agency adheres to agency goals, objectives, strategies and contractual obligations.Prepares, reviews, edits, and approves reports.Prepares, reviews, edits, and approves grant proposals and renewalsMonitors program and fiscal reports to ensure completion in a timely mannerStructures and lead teams to deliver outstanding client work.Partners with the ED in essential internal firm leadership activities (human resources, administration, and organizational planning)Identify best practices and improve internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budget realities.Other duties as spelled out in job description.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Must have excellent written comprehension and written expression in English and Spanish.Must have excellent verbal comprehension and verbal expression in English and Spanish.Must be a critical thinker.Must be able to monitor others, programs, goals, budgets, etc. to make improvements or take corrective actions.Must have the ability to guide, plan and monitor the work of others.Must have the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).Must have the ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.Must be able to multi-task.Must have the ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of numbers, goals and programs.Must have the ability to add and subtract.Must have the ability to remember information such as words, procedures, etc.Must have good negotiation and coordination skills.Must be able to monitor and operate technology equipment.Must have good planning and organizational skills.Ability to work nontraditional work hours, including some nights and weekends.______________________________________________________________________Education and Experience:Masters in the social service or management fields; at least ten years of distinguished service in a senior management position in human or government servicesTrack record of delivering superior results, commanding respect and assuming leadership roles.Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple prioritiesProven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humorDemonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people - junior and senior, for-profit and nonprofit, and from diverse backgroundsOperates with excellence in mind in all matters, with the confidence to defend/debate ideas without ego interferingOutstanding written and verbal communication in Spanish and English and interpersonal skills are essentialPassionate about HFCSNJ's mission and impactAbility to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settingsSelf-starter, self disciplinedWillingness to work "off" - or extended hours for agency functions, unforeseen circumstances, and/or special assignmentsOutstanding computer skillsDemonstrated involvement in community organizations/advocacyBilingual/Bicultural (English/Spanish) preferredRequires car, valid registration, insurance and driver's license, clean driving record
