Support acute care and step-down patients in a dynamic float nursing role designed to provide essential coverage for emergency department holds. This contract opportunity requires a skilled RN with progressive care unit (PCU) experience to manage both step-down and acute care patients effectively. Emergency department experience is advantageous but not mandatory. The position offers a structured four 12-hour shift schedule over 8 weeks, with potential for extension based on performance and need. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current and valid RN license in New Jersey or compact license eligibility Strong PCU experience, capable of caring for step-down and acute care patients Inpatient nursing experience required; emergency department experience preferred Certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (American Heart Association approved) Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting system advantageous Able to comply with comprehensive orientation requirements and complete all virtual and in-person components promptly Schedule/Hours: 4 twelve-hour shifts totaling 48 hours per week Weekend rotation: every other weekend Holiday coverage: one per contract as needed Return to office (RTO) policy: maximum three days Responsibilities: Float between units supporting emergency department holds alongside acute care and step-down patients Perform thorough patient assessments, administer medications, and implement nursing interventions per protocols Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care Complete mandatory orientation classes and badge issuance as required for facility access and compliance Location Insight: Located in the Sicklerville area of New Jersey, this assignment provides access to healthcare services in a suburban community with easy connections to the greater metropolitan region.
