and compliance needs. Position Overview: Shen Milsom & Wilke is
pleased to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and
results-oriented Medical Equipment Planner to join our team in
Chicago, IL. We invite qualified individuals to apply their

nearby areas. SM&W has a hybrid work policy. This position
requires three days in the office or on a project site and permits
two days remote. Key Responsibilities: The Medical Equipment
Planner is responsible for the strategic planning, selection,
procurement, and management of medical equipment in healthcare
settings. This role ensures that facilities are equipped with the
necessary tools to deliver high-quality patient care while adhering
to budgetary and regulatory requirements. Project Planning &
Project Management Collaborate closely with architects, engineers,
and clinical staff to ensure the optimal functionality and
integration of medical technology within the healthcare
environment. Develop detailed medical equipment plans that align
with the overall healthcare facility project goals and deadlines.
Responsible for all phases of the design, construction, deployment,
and installation of capital projects. Coordinating the planning,
interior design, and MEP requirements and discussions for the
hospital. Contribute positively by leading, planning, organizing,
and reviewing drawings, ensuring the effective placement of medical
equipment within the project construction documents. Oversee the
timeline for equipment procurement and installation, ensuring
coordination with various stakeholders, including clinical staff,
facility managers, and IT departments Research and evaluate medical
equipment vendors and manufacturers. Obtain price quotes, negotiate
contracts, and finalize equipment purchases. Prepare and manage
budgets for equipment procurement and installation. Lead equipment
performance analysis for the reuse of equipment on projects.
Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with financial plans.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timelines and
milestones are met. Report progress to stakeholders and address any
project-related issues. Prepare responses to RFP’s and RFP’s and
participate in interviews and presentations. Other duties as
assigned by the Project Director. Skills and Qualifications: An
advanced degree in healthcare management, biomedical engineering,
or a related field. 7 years of experience in medical equipment
planning, healthcare, clinical engineering, biomedical,
architectural, or construction environments. Demonstrated
understanding of healthcare industry practices, including the
procedures of hospitals and clinics and the functions of various
departments. Strong understanding of medical devices, healthcare
operations, and regulatory considerations. Excellent project
management, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in
budgeting and financial management. Excellent communication and
collaboration skills. Strong and clear command of the English
language to manage client relationships and project team
coordination. Must be proactive with excellent time management
skills and be capable of working independently as well as leading a
project team. Conscientious and flexible, with a strong work ethic
and team-leader attitude in a fast-paced environment Ability to
work well under strict deadlines, interface effectively with
management, and handle multiple requests. Proficient in Microsoft
Suite/Office 365. Working understanding of Autodesk Revit as
related to the healthcare building design process. Domestic and
international travel may be required, ranging from 5% to 15%.
