In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients recover and improve their physical abilities following trauma or in dealing with chronic conditions. Assist physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. Review patient statuses and report on any changes to the supervising therapist. Help execute specific components of a treatment plan as prescribed by the physical therapist, such as exercises and stretching maneuvers. Guide and assist patients in completing specific exercises and use of assistive devices. Maintain equipment and ensure the therapy space is clean and organized. Document patient responses to therapy and report outcomes to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and family members about post-session care and exercises. Understanding of physical therapy principles, theories, and best practices. Strong interpersonal and communications skills for working effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers. Basic proficiency with healthcare software and record-keeping. Capability to handle physical demands of assisting patients, including lifting, bending, and moving. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid State Physical Therapist Assistant License. CPR and First Aid certification recommended.
