Job Description:

Description Responsible for performing treatments on patients with radiation therapy as prescribed by Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Work closely with patients and provide support to them throughout the process by determining their needs, answering questions, and providing the best medical care possible. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Checks prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification. 2. Collaborate with all members of the patients care team. 3. Prepares equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices, and positions patient according to prescription. 4. Enters data into computer and sets controls and delivers treatment according to the physicians approved prescription in department EMR. 5. Observes and reassures patient during treatment and reports unusual reactions to physician. 6. Performs daily quality assurance procedures on the linear accelerator and PET CT unit. 7. Maintains treatment records in the patients EMR chart. 8. Follows principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others. 9. Accurately charge captures treatment performed in the department EMR. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: 1. Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program. 2. Active NJ Radiation therapy license. 3. Varian True Beam , Vision RT and GE simulator Experience. Preferred: 1. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel. 2. Proficient in operating a True Beam Linear Accelerator, Vision RT and GE simulator 3. Must have excellent communication skills.
