Job Description:
EMR is a global leader in metal recycling with a heritage dating
back to the 1950's. We have grown from a single UK business and now
have over 130 operational sites in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands
and the US, employing over 3,500 people. We recycle around 10
million tons of waste annually, made up of everything from drink
cans to aircraft carriers, which are re-used, recycled and
recovered into more than 200 grades of new, sustainable raw
materials. EMR is currently growing and is searching for talented
Human Resource Business Partners to join our team.
Under general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the
Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for aligning
business objectives with employees and management in designated
business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR
function to deliver value-added service to management and employees
that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP
maintains an effective level of business literacy about the
business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture
and its competition.
How you'll contribute at EMR USA---
- Execution of critical HR processes, including compensation,
performance management, talent acquisition, talent development and
workforce planning
- Collaborate with Business/Operations groups to provide
high-impact HR solutions
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the business leaders and
employees
- Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions in support of
HR programs and policies
- Lead, coach and develop a team of dedicated HR generalists
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct
and support effective, thorough and objective employee relations,
ethics, or compliance investigations (initial interviews & fact
gathering); maintain tracking for issues/concerns and handle
inquiries from employees and managers.
- Counsel managers and employees on situational issues;
participates in internal investigations, corrective actions, and
coaching, to resolve employee conflicts
- Partner with Talent Acquisition teammates on the hiring process
for business unit and advise hiring managers on selecting and
onboarding top talent.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work
relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and
retention.
- Develop understanding of EMR's internal talent landscape to
provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce
planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual
executive coaching needs.
- Consistent application of HR policies to mitigate risk and
ensure equitable solutions
- Other HR projects as assigned

practices, and the administrative practices related to those
factors
- Expert with Microsoft Office Suite, HR Information Systems to
include ADP and Dayforce
Your background will include---
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or
equivalent work experience, required
- Broad-based experience in HR, including employee relations and
knowledge and understanding of EEO laws and conflict
resolution
- Experience working with unionized work force. Active
participation in CBA negotiations, grievance hearings and
employment practices.
- Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal
employment laws, and compliance requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive leadership experience within
Human Resources
- Prior management of direct reports desired
Some additional information---Work is generally performed in a
traditional office environment at our EMR USA United States
headquarters in Camden, New Jersey. Touring our scrap metal
recycling facilities will be required. Working hours may vary and
early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required. Attendance
at events offsite will be required. You may be required to lift and
carry light weights. Travel requires the ability to drive and the
use of a personal vehicle.
