Apply today!GENERAL SUMMARYThe Senior Packaging Engineer, Packaging Technology position is responsible for identifying and securing packaging technologies that enable business goals and objectives related to top and bottom line growth and packaging sustainability.This strategic, individual contributor role contributes to the building, alignment, and execution of packaging technology strategies and roadmaps. Completion of technology identification and due diligence on technologies before transferring to partners within the M&B (Meals & Beverages) Packaging R&D team are key criteria for success. This individual will need to establish and maintain external relationships to stay current with packaging trends & insights and leverage as technology sources. The focus will be on primary packaging applications but can include secondary and tertiary packaging.We are seeking an individual who embodies the values of creativity, a naturally curious mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, emerging leadership qualities, and strong communication skills. The role requires the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders, strategically plan work, and manage the execution of multiple complex projects with minimal supervision.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES--- With guidance from line manager, set business relevant packaging technology direction by aligning work to company strategy and build technology roadmaps that enable these strategies to meet business goals.--- Identify and assess technologies for use in packaging applications that meet business needs or create future business opportunities.--- In collaboration with the Packaging capability leads (Technology, Innovation and Commercialization), influence strategic direction of work, maintain robust technology pipelines, and ensure sufficiency of input to generate appropriate consumer and / or business solution.--- Partner with Packaging Innovation team in the identification of technologies needed to deliver novel packaging solutions for new product offerings.--- Responsible for maintenance of the Technology portions of the M&B Packaging Technology and Innovation Pipeline.--- Develop, maintain, and leverage external partnerships to identify and vet packaging technologies.--- Coordinate quarterly updates of the M&B Packaging R&D Technology and Innovation Pipeline with Packaging Innovation and Category leads.--- As a senior member of the M&B Packaging R&D, provide technical guidance to other team members.JOB COMPLEXITY--- Manages and executes simultaneous projects involving varying levels of complexity and impact with minimal amount of supervision.--- Resiliently influences and maintains relationships with internal key stakeholders to maintain alignment on strategy, project execution and delivery.--- Creates and drives cross-functional partnerships to identify, evaluate, develop, and deliver packaging technology solutions.--- Establishes, maintains, and leverages external relationships and relevant networks.JOB REQUIREMENTS--- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related field required (will consider other Science, Technology, or Engineering disciplines).--- 7+ years of experience in packaging development or engineering role; 1-3 years of experience in packaging technology or innovation role desired (ideally in CPG).--- Knowledgeable in multiple packaging materials, formats, conversion processes, configurations, and processing technologies.--- Experience in technology identification, assessment, and development.--- Ability to think strategically, influence others to think and work differently.--- Track record of building and leveraging external networks and partners for better business solutions.--- Highly organized with great attention to detail and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected requests.--- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.#LI-HYBRID--- Compensation and Benefits:The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between$85,900-$140,800Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
