The Showboat Hotel, the jewel of Atlantic City, is conveniently located on the Atlantic City boardwalk just feet away from the Atlantic Ocean. The beautifully renovated hotel features 852 rooms, 25,000 sq. feet of flexible meeting space, a full-service bar named 12- Bar, and the Canal Street coffeehouse featuring quality, fresh brewed coffee and fine pastries. We are currently looking for a full-time Housekeeping Manager to join our team.

The Housekeeping Manager II is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper with coordinating, supervising and
directing the hotel's housekeeping department in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. 


• Assist in the leadership and management of the housekeeping and laundry staff: hire, train, develop, assess and empower staff to achieve the department's goals.
• Plan, organize, and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with cleanliness and quality assurance standards set by hotel, which requires continuous visual inspection of guest rooms and public space areas including restaurants, lounges, meeting rooms, etc.
• Assist in creating schedules and monitoring controllable expenditures to stay within the restraints of the established budget.
• Assist in the maintenance, ordering and securing of inventory to ensure staff members have all the tools and supplies.
• Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with hotel Hazcom program.
• Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc., make recommendations and assist in coordination of rehab projects.
• Oversee the laundry operation to ensure productivity standards are met, safety procedures are followed, and the company assets are maintained and protected.
• Maintain laundry facility cleaning cycle.
• As needed, inspect all equipment on a daily basis and report any abnormalities to the maintenance department to ensure proper asset protection.
• Ensure that all employees meet the uniform standards at all times which includes clean uniforms, neat presentation, proper  daily hygiene and use of name tags.

Here's a few (but certainly not all) of the responsibilities of this position; 

• Ability to attend to guests, associates and management in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner which requires strong customer service as well as written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and communicate in English.
• General knowledge of Housekeeping standards, principles and practices. Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements/controls and applications of relevant chemicals.
• Strong leadership skills to rally and motivate staff.
• Must be detail-oriented when inspecting cleaned rooms and spaces and in the general management of the housekeeping department.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying inquiries made by guests, staff and corporate officers.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate daily workload.
• Comply with company, hotel and brand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Employee must be able to maintain standards of attendance and punctuality and must be able to work varying schedules that include evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.

Education & Experience:
• High School diploma/GED or equivalent education/experience required.
• 1+ years of Housekeeping supervisory experience in a hotel environment.
• Applicable state certifications and brand training as required.
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and other required systems.
