Position Summary

This is a POWER Program role, open to graduates from December 2021 or anticipated graduates in May 2022. Our POWER Program consists of rotational assignments designed to showcase different businesses within the organization. Rotational opportunities may be in our Regulated, Non-Regulated and Services businesses.     Utility Shared Services - Part of SJI Utilities, Shared Services provides services to South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas in the following areas below in which you will rotate every 8 months.
    GIS and Records:

    • Maintains GIS and Records of existing and new gas infrastructure

    • Utilize ESRI ARC GIS Pro Platform for Utility Pipeline Data Model (UPDM) for updating and creating GIS data.

    • Responsible for QA/QC of newly created GIS data infrastructure at ETG.

    • Leads Records Cleanup Projects for SJG and ETG

      Compliance, Standards & Emergency Preparedness:

      • Monitors regulatory changes at the Federal and State Level. Assesses impacts to SJI companies and provide direction to the impacted Companies/Departments via policies, standards and memorandums.

      • Prepares, maintains, and updates procedures and standards for installing new or performing maintenance on existing gas infrastructure ensuring it is done in compliance with all regulations.

      • Measures and reports on Federal and State Regulated compliance maintenance and inspections performed on natural gas infrastructure, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

      • Responsible for Emergency Preparedness for Natural Gas Utility Operations. Maintains and updates the Emergency Preparedness Plan, plans and coordinates drills and exercises, communicates with emergency officials and other Emergency preparedness duties.

        Technical Training:

        • Responsible for Operator Qualifications (OQ) for all Employees and Contractors who work on the SJIU Utility infrastructure.

        • Develops Training Curriculum, delivers classroom and hands on training for gas operations work.

        • Ensures compliance with Federal and State Training and OQ regulations.

        • Responsible for new hire training

        • Administers pipe joining and welding qualifications

        • Currently implementing a virtual reality training program.


          • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in December 2021 or anticipated May 2022
