BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE -Hopeworks Camden is a nonprofit that has been working for over 20 years with Camden youth. - Hopeworks works with youth 17-26 to get back in school, earn permanent jobs, and achieve their dreams utilizing an advanced training curriculum in website design/development, and GISHopeworks' unique combination of technical training, real business experience, trauma-informed coaching, and academic counseling has led to extraordinary results.Training alone is not enough to provide these results. - Success for our young people also requires real-world experience. - To provide this experience, Hopeworks runs real businesses, providing technology solutions for businesses in web design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data visualization that not only help businesses achieve their goals, but also trains and employs youth into high demand, high wage careers.Position & ResponsibilitiesThe primary task of the Business Development Associate is to assist in generating qualified leads for Hopeworks established Web Development, GIS, and Trauma Training Social Enterprises. - -The role of the Business Development Associate requires a person with an eagerness to connect with other people, a willingness to learn new technologies, a history of reliability, and the ability to relate well to business clients, peers, visitors, supporters, and staff members. - -The ideal candidate must display excellent oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organizational abilities. A candidate for this position must be able to work in varied, fast-paced, and sometimes remote environments. Flexibility and tolerance is a necessity. -Specific tasks include:

  • Working at the direction of Hopeworks Business Development Director, use regular phone calls, video and in person meetings, networking events, and other opportunities to establish qualified leads for Hopeworks social enterprises
  • Facilitate setting up meetings between business prospects and the Business Development Director, including scheduling meetings, setting agendas, and scheduling follow up
  • Build rapport with key accounts through regular project updates, follow up calls, and providing value and resources to key clients and customers.
  • Assist in developing and deploying effective client testimonials and marketing contentOther duties may be assigned as required.Requirements
    • Proven sales experience meeting or exceeding sales targets
    • Experience working virtually and being able to pivot quickly to working in person or virtually depending on the situation and meeting needs.
    • Proficient in applications and software such as G-Suite, WordPress, Photoshop, Zoom, and Google Applications.
    • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. -At essence, the perfect candidate:
      • Is action-oriented, and not satisfied until they have exceeded the goal.
      • Loves interacting with young people, both to celebrate their successes and to challenge them to improve.
      • Is goal-oriented and tracks and measures progress through measurable outcomes.
      • Is a true cheerleader and coach, able to manage both individual relationships and groups.A few other qualities we're looking for include:
        • Open to training in trauma-informed care approach, which may require shifting previous workforce patterns and perspectives to adapt to a trauma-informed methodology.
        • A natural supporter - eager to jump in and help out wherever it's needed.Key Performance Measures:
          • Client intel completed per week -- Research news, significant hirings, and events of key clients and prospective clients.
          • Client communication -- Support the development of assigned client project updates on a weekly basis.
          • Business Development Activity -- Prospecting activities per week include outreach to prospects lists, developing advocates and opportunities within the assigned Chamber of Commerces and other trade associations or groups. -
          • Sales Revenue of $200,000 per year across businesses.
