Short Description The Intellectual Property -and Technology Transfer Specialist manages the administration and maintenance of Cooper University Health's worldwide intellectual property portfolio (involving patents, copyrights, trademarks and licensing), as well as preparation of legal documents and providing other documentation and compliance support. The position also provides the opportunity to learn about and contribute to all steps in the technology transfer processs, from prior art searching, market assessment, licensing and venture creation. -The ideal candidate is energetic, able to work independently and with a team, flexible, and highly organized with an extreme attention to detail. The successful incumbent must be able to juggle multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and a positive attitude. This position reports to the Cooper Innovation Center Director and will be located on the campus of Cooper University Health in Camden, New Jersey. -Experience RequiredDemonstrated experience and/or demonstrated interest in -technology transfer and IP prosecution mattersDemonstrated project management experienceStrong communication skills across multi-disciplinary teamsDemonstrated experience with event planning or event supportDemonstrated experience using office software such as databases, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and emailStrong problem solving skillsEducation RequirementsCompletion of a Bachelor degree with in a field related to medicine, the natural sciences, business, information technology or engineering preferred. -or -Completion of two years university or college in a field related to medicine, the natural sciences, business, information technology or engineering and continuing to persue a degree with an interest in technology transfer. - -or -Completion of a Paralegal Certificate Program and 1-3 years law firm experience or in-house at a health system/hospital is preferred. - -High School Diploma or Equivalent required.Special RequirementsThe preferred candidate will have an educational background in or related field to medicine, the natural sciences, business, information technology or engineering with a degree or continuing to persue a degree with an interest in technology transfer. A candidate with paralegal training will also be given preferred consideration. - - -Scheduled Days / Hours: M-F 8-4:30
