Procurement Manager – Metal & Glass Packaging General Summary: Under the guidance of the Director of Rigid Packaging, this position is responsible for the procurement of metal and glass packaging and associated programs for all Campbell locations in North America with a total annual spend valued at over $170MM. This role will also be responsible for supporting portions of tinplate packaging as the team prepares for the sourcing/renegotiation of the category. The individual will ensure quality of materials, competitive pricing, adherence to company policies, procurement processes and endeavors related to the operation of a proactive and strategic Global Procurement Business Unit. Primary Responsibilities: •    Develop Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan pricing and communicate market insights for metal/glass packaging •    Develop and implement cross functional category management strategies for value enhancement to drive tangible margin improvement •    Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to optimize value through the planning, implementing and monitoring of category management strategies •    Leverage a cross functional team to drive the commercialization process and priorities (policies, procedures) for metal and glass packaging •    Execute strategic sourcing process and activities •    Develop a deep understanding of supply markets and drivers for key commodities – aluminum, steel & glass •    Develop, implement and maintain supplier relationship management programs •    Prepare and oversee monthly pricing projections and market conditions for all business units •    Drive development of cost savings/value add initiatives and ensure consistent tracking to support the North American Supply chain targets •    Develop cost models to understand cost drivers and price transparency across all categories •    Proactively communicate market changes/dynamics to ensure timely updates and business protection •    Assess realized benefits from sourcing and develop improvement strategies and initiatives post-sourcing •    Continuously improve upon personal skills - adopting continuous learning and skill development and seeking feedback •    Ensure quality of materials, competitive pricing, and adherence to company policies, Procurement processes and endeavors related to the operation of a proactive and strategic Global Procurement team •    Evaluate strategies based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations •    Demonstrates high level of capability in the area of manager quality - demonstrate a commitment to strengthening the Procurement talent culture, consistently and actively seek and deliver effective coaching and feedback to employees, and drive continuous progress on employee development •    Ensure items are purchased in accordance with established policies and procedures. Job Complexity: •    Key member of the Global Procurement Packaging team tasked with optimizing metal & glass packaging spend with high complexity across the North American business units in accordance with established policies and procedures. •    Able to influence key stakeholders, including the appropriate level of executive engagement •    Develop new sources of supply and initiate value opportunities to ensure leverage, business continuity and support the EBIT goals of divisions •    Independently partner with the supply base and internal supply chain to develop longer term network optimization analyses and recommendations that unlock significant incremental value for the organization •    Administer solid control systems around purchasing and risk management activity (i.e. hedge strategies). •    Utilize process management techniques to establish priorities, ensure visibility and timely completion of concurrent product development projects. •    Knowledgeable of commodity characteristics and marketplace cost drivers. •    Subject Matter Expert on category specific information including spend, supplier performance, compliance, specifications and industry benchmarks. •    Develop cross-functional category strategies that effectively balance business unit requirements and ensure consistent and quality availability of supply. •    Proactively work with cross functional groups to develop value-add programs that deliver Total Procurement Value (TPV) targets. •    Develop and lead Supplier Relationship Management programs focusing on Value, Quality, Innovation and People. •    Demonstrate the ability to promote a high performing culture by developing, coaching and connecting with everyone at all levels •    Committed to and promotes the Campbell Leadership Model Minimum Requirements: •    Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred •    Minimum 8 years of experience •    Integrates and aligns Global Procurement strategy with other functional Business Units and Supply Chain strategies •    Consistently achieves competitive advantage/beneficial outcome in complex negotiations •    Solid understanding of commodity markets CSC1 The Company is committed to providing equal opportunity for employees and applicants in all aspects of the employment relationship, without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, marital status, veteran status, disability, age, religion or any other classification protected by law.
