If you're interested in working on the forefront of robotics with a creative team of great people, come join us!Purchasing AgentThe purchasing agent is responsible for the sourcing and buying of services, supplies, and materials needed to support all operations. This is a high-visibility position that will involve collaboration and coordination with supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, finance, and quality. This role plans, organizes, and executes purchasing activities while improving existing processes and procedures for buying services, supplies, and materials. This position understands domestic and international purchasing procedures, works closely with domestic and foreign vendors, and determines the best methods of delivery. This position works directly with suppliers and internal customers to provide exceptional customer service. As a key contributor to Sarcos' performance, this role provides feedback on procurement issues with recommended solutions to inform senior leader decisions in support of growth goals.Role/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and issues purchase orders in response to reorder point triggers, planning needs, and other internal stakeholder needs
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Performs follow up on purchase orders for delivery status from vendors; expedites ingredient orders as needed
  • Arranges for the return, credit, or replacement of non-conforming materials
  • Works closely with finance to maintain acceptable payment terms and resolves problems or disputes in a timely manner
  • Maintains accurate vendor records, including pricing and descriptions
  • Obtains and electronically files order confirmations and other documentation with the corresponding purchase order
  • Coordinates with quality control and confirms incoming inspection processes are followed
  • Coordinates with the warehouse on stock levels and maintains appropriate inventory
  • Investigates and resolves pricing, part number, unit of measure, or receipt discrepancies
  • Works with vendors to resolve problems related to delayed inbound freight, shipping damage, packaging problems, labeling, deviations from quantities and products ordered
  • Supports negotiations of terms and conditions, delivery schedules, rebates, and prices with vendorsCompetencies:

      • High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
      • 5+ years in purchasing, contracts administration, project management, or other related fields
      • Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating manufacturing needs and capabilities
      • Strong negotiation and networking skills
      • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
      • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
      • Proficiency in MS Office suite
      • Proficient in NetSuite preferred
      • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system experience preferredWork Environment and Physical Demands:
        • Work is performed Monday through Friday (Mountain Time) with ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Option for virtual work.
