The first national concrete company to formalize a company-wide commitment to green building through technology is seeking a Professional Sales Representative. The Sales Representative has responsibility for the marketing and sale of aggregate, sand and gravel and other related engineered products. The primary focus is to achieve sales, profit and growth goals within the Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia PA markets. Responsibilities Safety Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. Obeys safety guidelines when on construction sites and/or the Company's operations. Results This role will be responsible for achieving volume/market share and price/profitability objectives by plant, product, and customer/market segment Works closely with Customer Service, Sales, QC, Operations and other internal personnel to promote an effective work environment. Customer Account Development & Management: Understands communicates and captures the value of products and services to the customer. Establishes effective relationships with the customers; based on value quality products &services Identifies and understands current and underserved needs of existing and potential customers and translates into sales opportunities Competitor Activity Identifies the source of competitive supply into the respective territory. Understands and communicates the quality of products, services, and resources employed by relevant competitors. Continuously monitors competitor activity and communicates any necessary actions. Market Activity Management Proactively tracks and manages construction activity in the territory. Understands existing product specifications, identifies and recommends opportunities. Identifies relevant issues that may affect product supply. Understands the Company's current market position and continuously monitors the same Represents the Company on industry-related committees & associations. Designs, recommends and implements sales, marketing and promotional programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates, recommends and implements programs to increase sales volume and profitability. Recommends product or service enhancements to improve satisfaction and sales potential. Administration Performs administrative duties such as forecasting, budgeting, and regional /corporate reporting. Responsible for generating "right-first-time" invoices through effective utilization of the quotation/billing system, utilization of various sales tools and coordination with customer service personnel. Prepare sales quotes for customer service staff to enter quotations, perform error resolution. Documents and distributes market information prepares required reports concisely and timely. Responsible for support of collection activities to minimize outstanding receivables. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, marketing or engineering and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in sales management in construction materials in New Jersey/NYC preferred. Language Skills: Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, internal and external stakeholders. Ability to persuasively present to; Architects, Engineers, Owners, and Contractors. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to financial statements, budgets and cash flow and pricing theories and conflict resolution. Reasoning Ability: Ability to directly, or through others, develop a strategic plan based on a keen understanding of customer and market insights into a logical plan of action. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Other Required Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office software; strong organizational and time management skills; must be able to maintain confidential information. Clean Driving Record: Be able to operate, maintain insurance on, and own a later model vehicle. Background Check & Pre-Employment Drug Screen: Successful completion of both. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, hear and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. Work Environment Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
