Job Description Job Description /n /n Transports patients via ambulance. Executes the safe operation of the vehicle and the safe /n delivery of patients to their destinations. Provides Basic Life Support as required. /n Job Responsibility /n /n 1.Logs onto computer aided dispatch system w/FDNY within five minutes of /n beginning of shift.Documents any delays with RCC (Div 5) and on the vehicle /n checklist. /n 2.Checks vehicle at beginning of tour. Immediately reports any deficiencies to /n management. /n 3.Communicates on radio transmissions to and from dispatcher.Follows local /n guidelines for radio protocol. /n 4.Continuously monitors mobile data terminal and promptly communicates changes /n in signal status.Follows local guidelines for signal compliance. /n 5.Follows local and state protocols for patient care. /n 6.Maintains professional relationships with employees and supervisory personnel of /n local emergency agencies. /n 7.Reports professionally and clearly to hospital staff when transferring care of /n patients.Provides accurate, concise information and answers any and all questions /n regarding patient condition to the best of ability. /n 8.Completes ambulance call report (ePCR)( paper or electronic version) in a /n prompt, professional, and legible manner and turns in patient record copy to /n designated hospital staff in a timely fashion. /n 9.Completes all other applicable forms, including but not limited to tour recaps, /n ePCR for all jobs assigned, etc in a legible manner by end of shift. /n 10.Checks read and sign book at beginning of each shift.Reviews and signs each /n new communication. /n 11.Maintains and cleans vehicle and equipment when necessary or at the direction /n of SIUH Management. /n 12.Stores and maintains the required Personal Protective Equipment (turnout gear) /n and Helmet provided by the Hospital and immediately reports any damaged or /n missing component to EMS Management /n 13.Performs related duties, as required. /n ADA Essential Functions /n PHYSICAL DEMANDS: /n • Requires frequent lifting, carrying, balancing of up to 125 lbs (250 lbs with /n assistance) up or down stairs, ramps, inclines, and in and out of ambulance /n • Requires frequent sitting, standing, occasional stooping, bending, twisting and /n turning /n • Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform essential job functions /n /n Job Qualification /n /n • High School degree or equivalent, required. /n • Current NYS EMT certification /n • Current BCLS certification, required. /n • Drivers License Valid in New York State required (current and without violations). /n *Additional Salary Detail /n The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
